On a glorious Sunday morning the Parnells Junior hurling team started their championship campaign. They went down in glorious technicolor at Chanel.
The game ebbed and flowed throughout, the early exchanges were frenetic ,with young Sean Brennan repeatedly the rock upon which Crokes attacks floundered. Gavin Darcy was industrious around the middle of the pitch with Dáire 'Doc' O'Connor sniping around the fringes.
Upfront Johner Moloney had the score board ticking over including one monster minor from out on the wing. As the game ticked to half time it took on a rockyesque like epic contest where punch and counter punch were landed on the scoreboard. There was little let up in the second half with Carl Sammon coming into his own and John Sheeran rattled the net from a close in free.
Crokes snuck ahead with a series of points. In the end parnells were on the Crokes line looking for another goal but alas the long whistle arrived and when the referee finished toying with his abacus the result was in with the Nell's going down on a more munster final than junior hurling like final scoreboard of 1:23 to 3:13.
Well done to Enda and Colm (you can't get away) Brennan keep the performances up and you will be flying.
